I want to thank the author for reaching out to me to ARC read their work.
I'm a sucker for romance, particularly the bodyguard trope, which I discovered I appreciate with this book. However, the age gap was uncomfortable for me, I've never read age gap romances before this work, which made it clear that this specific trope isn't for me, especially not with any characters whose ages end with a "-teen".
Another point for me was the book's take on the surprise pregnancy. It felt a bit too rosy for my liking and seemed to lean heavily towards an almost pro-life viewpoint, which I didn't appreciate. I would have preferred a more balanced exploration of the topic because it felt like the FMC just easily accepted what happened to her without a second thought and moved on, and I think it would've been good for the readers to explore in-depth her coming to terms with her decision, it was too quick for me. (Again, I could be totally wrong but this is just my take)
Overall, this isn't a bad work, there were just factors that didn't align with my personal preferences, but I still think the author has talent in crafting a good romance.
