Haven’t read something like this in a while, a deep dive on the complex dynamics between characters. We read as the characters grow up, and how their relationships evolve. Most of the characters are deeply flawed, but I think that was the point. The author’s obviously passionate about games and worldbuilding, and it was fun to dive into this even as someone who doesn’t play games. Heartbreaking but hopeful and resonant, this book’s has a thoughtful take on life, baggage, and why we play games.
