After This Night by Lauren Blakely
4.0
In After This Night we are to the point where Clay must decide if he can trust Julia and live with her secrets and Julia must decide if she is willing to open up and tell them to Clay. Somehow these two have got to give and take to get to where they need to be.
This book is just as hot as the first two, maybe even more because they are coming to realize what their true feelings are for each other.
The question is can they get past those secrets.
There is one scene where I wanted to smack Julia upside the head. She is mad and I was like are you stupid? Say thank you and get over it. I guess I can see her point because of what she has been through but seriously, are you really going to throw away this amazing love you have over a guy being a guy and wanting to fix things?
Question for us women to ponder. Why do we get upset over things that happened before us? That was another spot where I stopped and wanted to tell Julia to grow up, it was before you, move on. That scene though led to an amazing moment so all is forgiven Julia. I am not upset about that scene, it just made me stop and think, why do we do that? It’s reality, it is how a lot of us react when it comes to this certain situation that is in the book. You will see what I mean and you will be nodding your head remembering this question. Why do we care so much about something that happened before we were in the picture. I think it stuck out to me because here Julia is this confident independent woman and that was a very insecure moment. That is what it all boils down to right? Our own insecurities and our place in their world?
All in all, excellent series from start to beginning. I really enjoyed our couple, the sex scenes were out of this world hot, and it was a great world to escape to for a moment in time.
Thank you so much for my copy of After This Night that was gifted to me to facilitate this review.
