This book was a bit bland. I think the summary was more exciting than the actual plot.
I can see why people compare this to Encanto. It definitely has some similarities, but it's not nearly as good and emotional as the movie, even though it tries. Even the magic system is a bit lacking.
The love story also fell flat for me. I can see how it's sweet, but miscommunication or lack of communication tropes really rubs me the wrong way.
