Say Your Prayers by Crystal Ash, Kathryn Moon

5.0

Please, Father

Please?! Please can I have more?! I haven’t read Crystal North’s other books, but I’ve been obsessed with Kathryn Moon for ages. This book has the same, immersive world-building that I’ve come to expect from Kathryn, and I’m planning to dive into some of Crystal’s since she had a hand in building Bethel. This book is irreverent in the best ways, I mean, it’s very clear from the blurb that some vows are taken very loosely. However, there are also poignant moments of love and an undercurrent of faith that keep the book from seeming too dark or hopeless. I’m not even going to go into a synopsis or character analysis. Although I will say that every one of these characters is written with imperfections evident, but it makes them so much deeper and realistic, even within the context of an apocalyptic town facing demon uprisings. Oh, plus the action in the book is sinfully decadent, so that is also a huge plus. These ladies definitely make a dream team pair!
