I don't mind read books written for younger readers, but this one was fairly bland and simplistic. There isn't really any character development.  Princess Cimorene doesn't want to stuck only doing the things that are proper for a princess to do. She decides to run away and ends up working for the dragon Kazul. There she needs to fend off the princes that want to 'rescue' her and protect all the dragons from the wizards that want to steal their magic. This would probably be a good fit for the 6-10 year age group.
