The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

4.0

I don't always enjoy romances, and often find them too cheesy. I was very skeptical of this one when the opening scene/preface was so dumb and it quickly became obvious who the mysterious man in the bathroom with Olive was. However, I really enjoyed the academia backdrop, as a woman in STEM myself. I also enjoyed the characters (except for Anh who was way overbearing and annoying despite the praise Olive gave her). I felt that I could relate to a lot of Olive's anxieties and awkwardness. And then Adam was your classic grumpy to sunshine character. I also loved his excuse for his "grumpiness" because it felt realistic that he wanted future science to be in the best hands, instead of the usual chip on the shoulder. I also didn't mind the naughty scene for once! It felt realistic and I'm glad there was only one. It was all that was needed. Overall would recommend to anyone who likes romance.
