I think this is easily Colleen Hoover's best series. I could read about these characters (and Lily specifically) for forever! I am SO glad that Colleen decided to write this sequel due to fan-demand, and I am so thankful she understood what we needed! This book felt like a peak behind the "Happily Ever After" curtain to show us that although life may remain difficult with so many twists and turns to throw at a couple (like having to learn to co-parent with your abuser)- Lily & Atlas would face these challenges together. Their relationship gave all the green flags and was just what my heart needed! While It Ends With Us focused on the strength it takes to end the cycle of abuse, It Starts With Us focuses on the beauty of healing after ending that cycle. I think both aspects were so important for people to read, and I know these books are going to stick with me 💗
P.S. I didn't think I could love Marshall and Alyssa more, but then I did 🥰
Spice: Cracked-Door? 😅
(I would consider it open-door, but not particularly spicy because they're moreso fade-to-black moments)
