Another Ali Hazelwood book. Another 5-star rating.
This book was really fun! I had a great time reading it and binged it in a day. There was way more chess talk and descriptions than I was expecting but that's on me.
I liked Mallorys journey even though she can be really stubborn and set in her way, believes and decisions which can be a bit frustrating. I really love Nolan. That guy is such a cutie and absolutely undeserving of everybody saying he's really unpredictable and violent. He punched a misogynist asshole once when he was 14 and I am not holding that against him.
The story was entertaining even if the twists were pretty predictable with heavy hints before the official reveal. The third-act breakup was overly dramatic and unnecessary. Still I just really like Ali's writing and I had a great time with this book. I would absolutely recommend reading it. :)
