Wow! I had never heard of this book or the author before picking up this book.
First off, the voice acting was so good. I love a different POV book & this did not disappoint! The book is mainly told from 2 perspectives- Danny & Jessie. Danny’s POV is told in 3rd person, Jessie’s in first. There is a chapter near the end that is from another POV. Really enjoyable listening.
The premise of the story is great, although I was hoping for some higher stakes. “Lost meets the Hunger Games”- I think NOT.. Most of the chats were very unlikeable and it did make it hard root for any of their outcomes.
I really don’t like howDanny was portrayed as the “bad guy” when he was clearly mentally ill it’s just a bit icky for me. That being said, I figures out the “twist” about half way through the book.
Overall, relatively enjoyable. It just didn’t live up to the tagline for me.
