The Second Home by Christina Clancy

4.0

I received an advanced reader copy of The Second Home from St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley, in return for my honest opinion.

The Second Home by Christina Clancy is a story about the unconditional love that comes from family. When Ann Gordon was in high school, she convinced her parents to adopt classmate Michael Davis. Ann’s parents and sister, Poppy, grew to love Michael. A terrible event happened while the family vacationed, at their summer home in Cape Cod, the summer that Ann was seventeen, which eventually led to the implosion of the Gordon family.

Now Ann and Poppy’s parents have passed away and all three siblings are estranged. Ann, Poppy, and Michael all have their own ideas about what should be done with the Cape Cod home. Can these three siblings learn to trust each other again, once Ann reveals the secret that tore this family apart years ago?

This was an excellent book filled with interesting characters, told from alternating points of view. The Second Home is available today, Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
