Did not finish book. Stopped at 67%.

So, this got off to a compelling start with the young survivor of a harrowing genocide being rescued by a ragtag group of smugglers. Imaginative world, found family, revenge... exactly the type of sci-fi I love to read. But I stalled after a major plot device which left me feeling cheated as a reader. I carried on but uneven exposition, pacing issues, and a main character who suddenly became amazing at everything he does had me bailing at 69%.
