DNFING at 60% wanted to enjoy this book, I really did, but I couldn’t get into it. It’s literally taken me almost two months to get halfway through, and I’m still not invested.
The story is very much crescent city (minus the fae) but replace Hunt and Bryce with Jace and Clary from TMI and have gangs involved too.
Their romance was fine. I didn’t love it. It’s a slow burn which I’m not always a fan of.
The book was too long for my liking. It’s over 700 pages for a first book in a series. This definitely needed to be cut down. The writing was well written at least.
I might return to read this maybe once book 2 releases or when any friends have read this to see their input. But until then, I’m not interested any longer.
