After You by Jojo Moyes

5.0

I actually liked this one more than the first one! I think it's because Lou's struggles felt closer to what I'm experiencing, since I just went through a breakup. It's this weird feeling of not knowing how to move on exactly, of being stuck and adrift at the same time.
I had some strong feelings toward Lily, and whether those feelings were positive or not,  I respect an author that can make a character that brings out such strong emotions. Every character is well rounded and complicated.
I've loved seeing Louisa grow and come out of her shell, and I can't wait to see how she evolves in the final book. Bonus points for the development of her mother's character as well.
