Okay so I really did enjoy this. I enjoyed watching these three grow up and my heart broke for them at several points in the story. I hate their uncle. I know he has his own trauma but i don’t feel he was as good to them as he could have been. Asghar is a poet and that’s very evident in the way this book flows and unfolds. This mostly worked for me but I can see how the fragmented way in which the book is laid out won’t work for everyone. I also felt the ending was rushed. It felt like there was more of a story left. All in all though, a great exploration of a lot of complex themes and a beautiful story.
