This is my first novel by this author so I can't speak for how this fits into their other work, but this novel is simply a beautiful exploration of humanity, fate and the meaning of life. It's such a page turner and it really feels like St. John Mandel has perfected her prose to strike every chord, although some sections certainly felt 'tighter' than others and I wish we saw more of certain characters as some stories were wrapped up with little more than a passing comment or left open-ended. I don't read a ton of speculative fiction but I think I should read more of it, because it really resonates with me.
