Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

At the beginning, it felt like re-telling of Harry Potter. The chosen one, A school for Mages and the head-master like a father to the hero. Harry too came to know of his powers at 11 age. There were just too many familiar things. But after reading 20 chapters or so, I began to love this book.

It made me happy to read about Simon and Penelope's friendship. Anyone can get hurt when simon goes off, but that doesn't scares penny away. It makes her get close to him. She's always there for him, whether it's good or bad and she doesn't want to lose him. She's a perfect friend for him.

There's so many things I don't understand about agatha. First, she loves simon but she doesn't want to be with him. Second, she had a crush on baz but got angry when simon became a friend of baz "as he is a bad vampire." I can't really decipher her character.

Baz is completely the opposite of what I thought "He will make life a living hell for simon." Which he obviously did but only because he was hopelessly in love with simon. I didn't expect this bomb as I thought it would be years before they fall for each other. As it turns out, Baz fell for him, the first time he saw him. It was iconic.

Simon said that Baz was his sworn-enemy but when he didn't came to school for over 2 weeks he went mad. He didn't eat properly, he didn't sleep. He was idly searching for him in secret places and hoped that he would pop out of something. I guess that he didn't realized his love for Baz even if he says otherwise.
