The Grand Ruin: Lance & Scarlet, Part One by J.C. Hawke

5.0

”If it’s not life-altering—messy, crazed love, capable of tearing me apart—I don’t want it.”

I’m honestly still trying to find the words after reading this book. Scarlet and Lance’s story pulled at every single one of my heart strings. I laughed, I cried, I felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. A chance meeting in an elevator that went all sorts of wrong intertwined their lives in ways I don’t think either of them even saw coming. Lance was grumpy and egotistical and Scarlet gave it back to him ten fold. They saw through one another’s masks and were the fit. I knew when I started this book it was going to be everything, as JC Hawke’s writing feels that way every time. This is one story that’s going to stick with me and I already can’t wait for the second part.
