I almost didn’t finish this book but it does get more interesting about halfway through. Perhaps it’s my age but I found none of the characters relatable. I found myself getting more annoyed with Phyllis and her so called ‘new life’; she is aware of her privilege and her whiteness but I don’t think she goes further than that. I think I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone else. That being said the writing was good and the twist was unexpected, if a little unbelievable.
