Rescuing Annie by Susan Stoker

4.0

Just like if it was your little girl getting married, you read this and you'll cry most of the book. It wasn't as excitingly jam packed as some of the other rescuing books which is why I couldn't do a full five. Annie is the character we love and saw grow up, reaching her dream. Being a Green Barret is impressive, and from earlier books, when Annie was talking to Aspen and being a combat medic I guess I just expected Annie to be a medic in the military, but of course being on any SF team is hard work.

I found all the 'I love you's' between Frankie and Annie a bit much, but understanding them in the context that they've spent more time apart than together makes sense. I have no issues with how Frankie is basically the house husband as he puts it, and Annie is the action packed one. They work, and it works for them. The fact that Annie is so insecure about her family, friends and her own thoughts outside of Frankie is a complete spin on what we thought of her previously.

It was nice and sweet, a story about the little girl we loved, now grown up. It just didn't have the full force excitement as all the rest in the series.
