The Sands of Ammon by Iain Halliday, Valerio Massimo Manfredi
5.0
This was far more captivating than its predecessor though I hasten to add that both have me utterly curious. Having known Alexander's name, and little more, before commencement I had assumed that my knowledge could only improve. Did I expect the books to be as educating as they are? Not truly. In all honesty I had never imagined a book could be so educational, and yet still read as anything other than a text book. I look forward to the finale, but feel certain that owning my own copy of the trilogy will be the least I can do when going forward. Following the first book, which seemed slightly heavy, I read a couple of other unrelated tales so as not to put myself off. With this book I really just want to continue reading. Such a shame that I do not yet possess the final instalment. Such a shame.
