Sailor Moon, Volume 3 by Naoko Takeuchi

5.0

The third volume gives us the ending of the Dark Kingdom arc and the beginning of the Black Moon Clan arc. I won't go through the synopsis, as fans of the manga and the anime know the basic run-down of the plot.

I really like this section of the story. The ending of the DK arc brings Usako and Mamo-chan together and it's so chock full of love and mushiness that I can't help but love it. If you grew up with SM than I think it's pretty safe to say you have (or had, at least) a huge crush on Mamo-chan? Am I right? I know I did. And do. So all the romantic stuff with them, which is often not my style, is fun and nostalgic for me.

Another thing I love is the introduction of Chibi-Usa. She has long been one of my favorite things about SM. The way she appears in the story is great. I love that right off the bat she's super cute and adorable, but also more than a bit crazy and possibly pretty bad-ass. I love this arc, and her storyline. I honestly don't remember a whole lot of details from the anime, but I remember really liking it. I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of this arc in the next two volumes.
