There's A Monster In The Woods by Fae Quin

5.0

I saw in a review somewhere, the perfect description of this book and it's stayed with me: "This book smells like going outside and digging in the dirt; You can basically smell the fresh earth and pumpkins while reading this story." I am summarizing as I can't remember the EXACT wording, but this is so true. The way that Fae just weaves the most beautifully written story about Ellis and Styx is absolutely mesmerizing.

I LOVED how they communicate (Styx is non-communicative) and how they form a friendship first, and even though you can just *taste* the tension between the two (BREAD SCENE), a bond is formed first.

I enjoyed how they both spoke to each other, Ellis using verbal words, Styx using gestures, non-verbal cues as well as using the wind to whisper to Ellis. All their scenes together were just so damn heart warming. That's really how this story makes you feel: Happy and cozy with those warm feels.

BUT! If you're here for the nasty, ahem... There is only one spicy scene but holy shit. Ma'am. I would like some more, please. *Grabby hands*

"There are two monsters in the woods.
The lonely monster cries no more,
You'll hear them sing,
A song of fate,
Their happiness so loud you can't ignore."
