Darling: A Spiritual Autobiography by Richard Rodríguez

challenging inspiring reflective slow-paced

5.0

This is my favorite book. It's a little dense, and not entirely cohesive, but Rodriguez is such a stunning author and philosophical mind that even his ramblings are life-changing. He reflects on religion and spirituality, on setting and geography, on gender and sexuality, and on all the ways that those facets of our lives connect to form identities and experiences. I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially to any follower of an Abrahamic religion, anyone brown, anyone gay, or anyone particularly interested in the architecture of Las Vegas.
