My Uncle Napoleon by Iraj Pezeshkzad

3.0

the lovely cover full of tiles piqued my interest and when i picked up this book it seemed like a fascinating story of modern-day iran. i was a bit surprised to discover it was more like something out of molière's playbook (literally). the drama was absurd and entertaining although i'm sure the various references to politics and contemporary (that is to say mid-century) iranian culture were lost on me. an interesting read but ultimately i wasn't all that enamored by it.
