Fatal Cure by Robin Cook

3.0

I was suffering a book hangover and could not decide what to read next, so I turned to my guilty pleasure: medical thrillers.
Once again the all-american family manages to save the day and reveal a medical conspiracy to the world. Once again the greedy, private health system is putting money and balance sheets before patients. Once again the bad guy is practically walking around with a neon sign saying "I'm the killer" which nobody (but the reader) seems able to see.
On interesting thing, though, straight from 1994: Cook writes also about sexual harassment on the workplace, and he made me think about how many progresses we've made/ haven't made so far and how the attitude towards it has changed in 20+ years. Sometimes even a novel with no particular ambitions could act as a social commentary.
