Not So Sincerely, Yours by A.M. Johnson
5.0
In brief: Ethan and Anders met each other at a party and neither made the best first impression on each other. Now, Ethan needs a job and Anders needs an assistant, but neither of them like each other, Ethan is too unprofessional (in Anders' opinion) and Anders is too stuffy (in Ethan's opinion).
This is yet another new author for me, but I think I'll look out for other works because I really enjoyed this. I see now it's the second one in a series, I read it as a stand-alone but I think I know the focus of the first book, so I didn't feel too lost coming in on a second book.
I loved the interplay between Anders and Ethan, the emails they'd send each other, it was so lovely to see the relationship develop as a slow burn as they both discover they were wrong about that first impression. You can almost see them slowly falling for each other as you read the emails and see them getting to know each other. There is tons of heat when they do eventually get together but the whole thing by that point has been built up so well, the payoff is just so satisfying. There's remarkably little angst too, which was nice but did keep me guessing, I was waiting for the inevitable shoe to drop but it never did. These two were so well matched, I really enjoyed this and it's a full 5 stars for me.
