After the first couple of books I was expecting a "stuffier" Arabessa, so I took a bit to adjust to this more sensual feeling character.
Zimri lacked some of the depth I thought an empath would have, but his love was exactly how I pictured it to be. I just felt like something was missing from the relationship and I think it was my own understanding of it due to my assumptions it would be "new" and that the other books meant it was building instead of already existed.
But of course, the story was another line of twists and turns in a kingdom my imagination would have never created on its own. A lovely ending to my visit in the Thief Kingdom.
