Court of Claws by Briar Boleyn

3.0

This was hard to rate because the world building, politics and action scenes were first-class. The author does an excellent job of making you feel like you're in the gallery with Morgan, watching all of the trials.

The downfall to all of this is Morgan herself. It was incredibly irritating how much of her POV is complaining about Draven and fighting their relationship. She's bizarrely immature about it all and it made me want to stop reading a few times. The action scenes and other characters kept bringing me back, though.

The spice is okay? I mean, it happens and it's descriptive, but it doesn't seem like anything either of them would say, if that makes any sense. But if you're looking for it, it's there.

I am looking forward to the next book after that cliffhanger and epilogue, however.
