The Unbeating Heart by Cyran Faringray

5.0

So perfectly dark and demonic

This is absolute dark, devious perfection! I started with The House of Grief which gave me a chance to dip my toes into Cyran Faringray's writing and now am completely submerged.
The Unbeating Heart is not for the feint hearted and you should please check those TWs before you start, but if you see TWs as more of a menu to look forward to, then you are going to love this.

I normally can give or take a single POV read but you will see that this is completely intentional. As the reader, you are caught in the same place as Selene, uncertainty about what she should do next with her mission, torn by her attraction to both her targets, and brought to her knees by her own actions.
There were so many points that I thought I could see where the plot was going but I continued to be surprised with each turn. I adored this book and didn't want it to end but the way it ended was perfection.

I absolutely devoured this book (the way I wish Nyx and Zal would devour me) and I intend to read everything by this author. Completely satiated my black little heart.
