Café Con Lychee by Emery Lee

This book was a perfect blend enemies-to-lovers and slow burn. Both MCs were fantastic characters, and I was deeply invested in their emotion. The main couple was amazing representation: one was openly loud and proud about being gay while the other hadn’t come out yet, one was Puerto Rican while the other was Chinese Japanese. The character development was beautiful, especially for a coming-of-age novel. The struggles both characters felt are real and relevant to kids today. I loved the minor themes, like talking about the effect gentrification has on communities. While seeing the insides of real characters, we also see into the external struggles that people of color and LGBTQ+ face. Although this book was not without its flaws, the plot was intriguing and I loved the characters enough that this is still worth 5 stars.
