Alone with You in the Ether by Olivie Blake

5.0

This book made me feel like I was 17 years old again, falling desperately in love with a boy who was unmaking and remaking me in every way, in every lifetime, in every version of myself. When Aldo said "time is made of her" - when he said "Go on, ruin me. Wreck me, please" - I felt that in my very bones, if they even exist.

This story is art, in that it reminds you what it is to feel something, with every fiber of your being, every beat of your heart, every flap of a bee's wings.

I am bewitched and moved by the cerebral experience of this narrative. It is romantic, but not a romance - it is so much more as it tumbles out of control between worlds, between timelines, on the precipice of sanity - somewhere between the spaces of my head and my heart and my soul, which can barely contain all that it made me feel.
