All in all this is a good thriller, there’s great build up it tense and very mysterious until the end. Plottwists are executed well and aren’t super predictable. However i have a couple bones to pick, first the way Jack never once properly takes time to grief the only person he was close with. He doesn’t even shed a single tear for his brother or shows sadness/grief in any other way other than getting revenge. Secondly the way the women are written is kinda sad, the only female mc gets stuck with being the love interest and has to be “protected” by Jack even tho she’s a badass smart policewoman. The only other women that play a bigger-ish part in the story are either murdered or kidnapped. It gives off big “written by a man” vibes, which considering that it is written by a man is not very surprising. If you can overlook that it’s a pretty fun read. I’m not very enticed to read other books in this series but who knows.
