Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
I wanted to love this book so much because it has the makings of everything I love. History. Mythology. People rising against the odds. However, the writing style leaves so much to be desired.

Maybe if I'd been reading this in middle school, it would be okay, even enjoyable. However, as an adult, once I've hit my third run on sentence with four "and" in it, im tuning out. With a bit of extra editing, this could have read so much more smoothly and pleasantly.

It also felt like at times the author threw in a lot of Greek Gods' and notable important names all into one paragraph just to show how much research they did for the book and how smart they are. For the sake of storytelling that is often fine, however it often felt clunky and didn't add anything to the point of that moment in time for our characters.

All-in-all, if I'd read this year's ago I'd probably love it as much as everyone else seems to. Now, however, it was just not good.
