Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore

5.0

The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it ended. I'm not even being facetious, I genuinely wouldn't have minded if the story leaped through every single year of Oona's life (I definitely wanted more of the 80's lol).

Oona made a lot of stupid choices along the way, but I couldn't help but love how frustrating it was that she wasn't getting it. She was stubborn throughout the whole thing, thinking she could change things, getting mad at herself and lashing out on everyone else when things didn't go her way. But that's the way things are, in the end. Her life was out of order, but she still had to live with the consequences of her actions, and I thought this part was incredibly well done.

That's it, basically. I was hooked on this in a way a book hasn't hooked me in such a long time I just loved it, I loved the journey, I didn't want it to end. It helps that I tend to enjoy time travel stories, and I personally cannot resist a bit of the 80's thrown in there. I thought the book could have given a bit more details about a couple of things, like how/why Oona started leaping, or what happened to some of the characters in a couple of timelines (I feel like some people were set up to be important, but they didn't end up mattering in the end), but I still really, really enjoyed this.
