This book was like a more appealing, exciting, and rated-R version of Twilight. Despite the fact that I was envisioning Twilight with everything revolving around these Vamps, they DID NOT SPARKLE!! I cannot even begin to tell you just how much that fact pleased me.

The first half of the book was pretty dull, only in that there was not much in the way of action (and I'm not talking about sexually; there was PLENTY of that). Nothing very eventful happened beyond the brief encounter with Jacob, which was actually a lot less exciting than I had anticipated. It was over and done with before we had even gotten to experience it. Kind of a bummer. Oh well.

The attraction between Sera and Liam was instantaneous and totally combustible. Before it could be truly complete, however, Liam had to first win over Sera's trust, as she has a past with harmful men. But boy, does Liam bring out the good in Sera. He has all the devotion and heart to bring out Sera's confidence and wholehearted trust in him, and then things get truly flammable. *squealing

Until the encounter with Jacob, though, the first half of the book is pretty my like any normal college relationship (at least I assume so, as I am only in High School I suppose I can't quite make that assurance. Making it anyway.) Sera and Liam seem to be your typical couple. The Vampire within Liam doesn't even seem to be present and we don't get to see much of this side of him. That is, until he kills Jacob in a fit of beastly rage. Then all goes to hell as he has no choice but to reveal his true self to Sera. This is where we see the crux of their feelings for each other, as they must both make sacrifices for the one they have come to love.

And thus, we dive into the second part of the book and the culmination of action provoked by outside forces. Sera's best friend has the brilliant idea to take the group away for some fun in the mountains. However, their plans are shot to hell when a blizzard leaves them stuck in the cabin with four hungry vampires and one crazy trampire (tramp-vampire for those of you who were curious) who is dead-set on taking Sera's life. It is pure chaos of our little group as they attempt to protect those unaware of the dangers they face. And it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of these amazing characters (the main group anyway). They were so well-rounded and dynamic, interesting and captivating. I fell totally in love and I am delighted at the time and effort that this author obviously put into this book. It was truly spectacular.
