Special thanks to Marty Vee for reaching out and giving me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

This was a very quick read for me, but very enjoyable nonetheless! I’d like to start off with just how creative the plot is. I think it’s very unique how Serena and Daire work at a PR firm in Chicago. Most books that contain a “workplace romance” are always set in a standard office, so I really appreciated the change.

I really loved how funny, steamy, and emotional this book is too. Don’t let me forget the one bed trope either…. One moment you have the two reading separate books, and when Daire asks Serena what she’s reading, she blanks on a classical book name instead of just telling him that she’s reading “Shackled by Lust”. Then it’s completely flipped and you see Serena’s inner battle and wanting to trust that Daire didn’t embezzle from the PR firm. As for steamy-You’ll have to read the book and find out for yourself.

My only complaint was that I wish there was more of an explanation on Daire’s “daddy-issues”. It seems like a very big conflict within his life, and throughout the book it’s only briefly described. Another thing was I felt the ending was a tad rushed, but it was still a great read.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a creative spin on a workplace romance with plenty of funny banter, angst, and spice!! 🔥🔥🥰
