Disclaimer: I'm judging a fictional romance book. All opinions are my own. I intend not harm or else with this review!
- I'll give this book 2,45/5 Stars.
- Read from 12.02.24 to 13.02.24
- But why?
> Olivia starts a nice, caring, strong, confident woman. And ends as self-centered, selfish, stupid woman. And that's it just 2 months of the plot... nice.
> The first 50% are a 3,5 star read.
> The last 50% are a 0 star read.
> The book deals with her getting a diagnosis: Cancer.
She explains what her cancer and treatment will be and we get her 4 chemotherapy sessions and live expectations but that's almost it. A bit disappointing tbh.
- I think the book is ok.
- I like main character Olivia. She's strong, funny and honest.
- Garrett is a nice guy as well.
- It moves pretty fast in my opinion. It's love on first sight and they're together less than a week into dating.
- The problem starts in the middle of the book and the end is just plain stupid. It gets worse and worse and worse and than a happy end...
- Both spend all their free time together and that's obviously ok and fine... but it feels to me like they gonna marry tomorrow at the rate they're going...
- Her diagnosis is really devastating and breaks my heart!
- Halfway through and we geht the first fight over his fans 🤦♀️🙄 the author could have picked ANY subject... and she pics jealousy over an autograph?!?! 🙄 her are the quotes:
Garrett: "I was just about to tell her no.”
Olivia: “But see, Garrett…that doesn’t matter. What bugs me is that this is a part of your life. You’re constantly going to be faced with that, and I’m constantly going to be insecure about it." IS SHE FOR REAL?!?!? 🙄 if you think your significant other can't be faithful to you because of other people than that's a YOU problem... my God 😑🤦♀️
- Olivia doesn't get that a relationship contains 2 people... not just herself. Quote: "How dare he get mad at me? I’m the one with cancer…not him. It’s my life, not his, so I should get to call the shots." No girl, just no. Of course both are independent and make their own choices.... but stuff like this, YOU HAVE TO TELL YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER. She was in the hospital for fucks sake... of course he wants to know that... 🤦♀️
- 🙄🙄🙄🙄 80% and she has to start drama, AGAIN FOR NO REASON.
- Like I said before: IN A RELATIONSHIP THERE ARE TWO PEOPLE. 2!!! Not just one. And when both are well informed about a certain subject and make decisions for them selfs... THAN DONT TAKE THAT AWAY FRON THEM WITH MAKING DECISIONS FOR THEM... he mad a choice to stay with you. HIS FUCKING DECISION. Don't break up with him you gigantic stupid woman.
- This makes me so angry. She's obviously NOT ready for a real relationship. 😠😡
- It's so unnecessary.
- And big red flag for his anger management issues on the ice...
- The award for selfishness, stupidity, mindfuck and asshole behavior goes to:.... Oliva. Here's a prime example with a direct quote: “I love you, Garrett. So much. But I figure the pain of a breakup is going to be far easier for you to overcome than the pain of potentially watching me die one day. Trust me, it’s better this way.”
- Alex got it right! She just has asinine ideas!
- I so understand why Garrett didn't want to get back together... she doesn't get it. She sees no real mistake on her part. She did make a mistake by braking up but she did it because she loved him and that makes it ok in her eyes... BUT IT DOESN'T. And she doesn't see it: “Yeah…but I’m right and he’s wrong" No you are not 😡😠🙄🤦♀️
- "I know… I’ll beat this cancer, and then I can say with flourish, “See, Garrett…I did this just for you.”That will surely win him back." 🙄😡 How stupid is she? Like a million red flags on her part.
- “Where the hell do we go from here?” Hopefully to hell and leave me the fuck alone with your nonsense.
- They forgive each other 🙄 and we get a 41 year time jump and we're done. Finally
