This tender story of family, sisters, and love is so moving. I’ve known Little Women all my life in many different iterations, but never read the original cannon. The abundance of emotional, raw moments in this book remind us of the continuities of the human experience between the novel’s conception in 1868 to today. Even while shrouded formal language that were not used to today (something that once deterred me from the book), the triumphs and heartaches of the March sisters resonated deep in my heart. It is no wonder that this is a classic, and I suspect it is one I will turn to for comfort for years to come.
