The Dead Romantics, by Ashley Poston

4.0

“We were an author of love stories and an editor of romances, weaving a story about a boy who was once a little ghostly and a girl who lived with ghosts. And maybe, if we were lucky, we’d find a happily ever after, too.”

What a goooood book, so fun & original. Genuinely haven’t read anything like it. Although it’s a strange love story between an author who can see ghosts (and her funeral parlor owning family) & an editor (who was a little ghostly himself), this book had plenty of moments where I swooned & it didn’t feel cheesy at all. Romance aside, this whole book embraced death & dying & funerals in such a kind way & showed the process of grief within that. I know this book probably isn’t for everybody but it was definitely for me!
