The Last of a Great Breed: True Stories from a Career in Pro Wrestling by Dory Funk Jr

3.0

This is a collection of true or mostly true stories by Dory Funk Jr about his time in the wrestling business. I read some of them on Dory's website around the dawn of the internet. I suspect most, if not all, of the content consists of stories pulled from his ancient website.

The book is a DIY job and is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. The stories aren't presented in any sort of order that I could detect. Still, it's hilarious at times and a great source of information about the Amarillo territory as well as other territories Funk worked, both during his four year stint as NWA World Heavyweight champion and the years after. Three out of five stars.
