His Lady in Hiding by Jen Geigle Johnson

4.0

This story follows Lady Elizabeth Davenport who is running from an unwanted engagement and ends up on a ship to America to become a housekeeper. She befriends Lord Barton on the voyage without either of them knowing that he would soon be her employer.

I enjoyed this story premise and the funny situations it brought about for Lady Elizabeth and Lord Barton.
I loved Elizabeth’s courage and determination and I enjoyed watching Lord Barton fight his feelings for his new housekeeper. He made mistakes here or there but I like how real that made him.
The villain, Lord Pinweather, was written so well that he made my skin crawl anytime he entered a scene.

Adventure, intrigue and clean romance make for a very entertaining read in this historical romance.
