On the Savage Side by Tiffany McDaniel

5.0

I sit on the precipice of sorrow post read. As an Ohioan. And furthermore as someone who lives close to Chillicothe and remembers the women who were murdered from the news stories and hearsay of the Six this book breaks my heart. But Tiffany often does with her stories. This is a winding story one with hints of the truth that gets revealed in the end. Bleak doesn’t even begin to cover it. Corruption throughout and hardness. Addiction and the people/families it destroy are at the heart of this book. The people who love them and the people left on the side hoping folks will find their way out. It also shows the violence of men. How little they care. How frequently they are the predators lurking in the dark.

Who would i recommend this book to…. Everyone and no one lol honestly it’s a book that I took my time with because it was trying to break me on the way through. And it’s also a book that you shouldn’t enter expecting all the answers because in life more often than not there isn’t a good reason or answer it’s just someone or something trying to make it through.
