Highland Promise, by Hannah Howell

"i dinnae say that just to sooth your poor wee pride."
"a mon's pride isnae a poor wee thing, lass."

-this book irritated me because not once, not twice, but THREE times the idiot girl left the safety of the castle to go out frolicking, even KNOWING the man who was trying to kill her was out there. and guess what, THREE times the man was there! and tried to kill her each time. i mean truly, how stupid do you have to be.
-and also, the newly wed and supposedly besotted husband has to ride off to meet his relatives and prove his claim. which he does. then they insist he stay a couple more WEEKS to meet everyone. which he does. even though a man is trying to kill his new wife that he left back home. i can see staying a few days, but two weeks? with so many other pressing matters to attend to? sure, *rolls eyes*.
-i've enjoyed her other books, so i'll keep reading. but this one wasnt so good.
