In an Unspoken Voice: How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness, by Peter A. Levine

5.0

I know it’s good nonfiction when I read it and then think about how many tens of thousands of dollars my parents wasted on college classes when I could have just read a book. Listened to the audiobook and the narrator had a really even keeled voice.

Learned about: shaking, pendulation, how not to get PTSD after an accident, instincts, animals, trauma, how bad it is to restrain people/animals, somatic therapy, the history of therapy

File under: dense, audiobooks, books that changed the way I see the world

Recommend for: ?? My mom is a therapist and we share an audible that’s why I read it, not sure exactly what would compel someone to read it beyond that
