If I could rate this higher I would! Def 10/10 would recommend read. Super fast, interesting characters, loved that it took place in Chicago, loved the actual story.
If you want to read modern takes on folklore that isn't just Greek/Roman, this is for you. There was also a sort of light or brief touching of how Christianity views pain as penance and how that might not actually be the way to go about things.
Also the little bit of romance and the little bit of found family was wonderful.
