What first drew me to this book was the illustration, it is gorgeous, and I am always looking for books with diversity and inclusivity to add to my classroom. I feel it is important for children’s sense of belong and well being to come to an environment they see themselves and their interests represented.
I really enjoyed Julie Berry’s story. It was funny, witty, light and oh, so true! I appreciate how she validates children’s emotions and offer solutions. Her main character is so relatable, I feel this book is a great addition to any classroom or personally book collection. It is a great way to help children understand, verbalize, and process their big feelings.
