I love anything Cassandra Clare does, of course, and while the action was here, I really loved this book for the emotion. I loved the characters in this installment so much. While no one new was introduced I felt like there were layers and more things to love with each of them as story went on. There were so many beautiful moments in this story. I loved how the sibling relationships were strengthened as well as the friendships and relationships. I also thought the introduction of new ways to fight and the new inventions were super cool. I felt like we got perspective from more of the Merry Thieves and side characters which was great. While there were some sadder moments, (that I may not think are necessary) the book wrapped up really nicely. I loved the healing aspect and I felt that there were so many heartfelt and meaningful conversations happening and I really really loved that for these characters specifically. While this chapter of the Shadowhunters is sadly over, I am always looking forward to more from this world.
