The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

2.0

This book is something, im not really sure where to start....I guess I will start with the writing.

I personally dont like Sally Thorne's writing style. It was hard to read at points, especially during dialogue. It's hard to tell who is talking. The dialogue would keep going and she wouldn't say who was saying what. She would try and do it in a clever way so she didn't have to write said/replied/responded etc. but it really just ended up confusing me. Some scenes were SUPER cringey, like i physically cringed a-lot throughout this book. Also the characters fall in love way too fast to categorize this book as enemies to lovers. When the kissing scene happened it felt like i missed a few chapters. Usually in a traditional enemies to lovers they hate each other for most the book, but here the kissing scene happens within the first 10 chapters. I understand why it happens so early by the end of the book but it kinda irritated me. I was prepared for a slow burn hate sex kinda feel and i didn't get that. In a book with a good enemies to lovers kissing scene you long for that kiss, you've been waiting for it the entire book, then it finally happens and you wanna scream in excitement. In this book it was so sudden it made me angry, but I digress. The overall plot was very good and the chemistry between the characters was great. I just wish it wasn't so insta-lovey.
