The topics had definite potential (the themes have Handmaid’s Tale vibes) and the dystopian pieces to it were engaging and could have been thought provoking. Unfortunately most of the book featured a relationship that wasn’t well developed and I wasn’t invested in it at all. Lots of surface level, flowery romantic language when I wanted more dystopian. Not sure I’ll finish the series.
